Murder suspect, Calvin “Burger” James was remanded to prison today when he made his first court appearance since being captured by police over the weekend.

The man, who eluded police for over three months is facing eight charges following a double-murder incident in Donavans on October 5 last year.

James was charged with two counts of murder after he allegedly shot and killed his niece, Tahisha Thomas and his nephew’s girlfriend,Sanchezca Charles.

He was also charged with attempted murder for shooting his nephew, Lawrence James during the same incident.

Other charges include two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition and one count of larceny.

His is due back in the Magistrates Court for committal proceedings on April 11
