A Jamaican man wanted in his home country for murder and who had been hiding out in Antigua, undetected for some time, has been deported.
It was discovered that Rohan Godfrey Hill, who is a murder suspect and believed to be a member of a notorious gang in his country, was residing in Antigua for at least 8 months.
Immigration officials confirmed that the 28-year-old man arrived in Antigua 8 months ago and was granted entry for six months.
At the time he was already flagged as a wanted man in his country, but this was not detected in Antigua.
When his time ran out, Hill continued to live and work illegally at a construction site on Factory Road.
Last week, he and his girlfriend left Antigua on a LIAT flight to St Lucia, and on arrival there he was denied entry because his name was flagged in the security system as someone wanted for murder.
This occurred on Saturday and both he and his girlfriend were sent back to Antigua.
Authorities in Antigua detained him until Monday when he was sent out of the country.
Jamaican authorities were said to be waiting for his arrival to question him about at least one killing and offences under the anti-gang legislation in that country.

This is why the government needs to be more strict in there laws, for them to willingly know that he was suspected of something he did in Jamaica he was still allowed to stay in the country for 6 months. But as soon as he went to St Lucia with his girlfriend and it was highlighted to them that he was wanted for murder they send them back to Antigua and then you lot decide to send him back to Jamaica after 18 months. This cannot be the first time that this has happened!
Why under the Caricom system, wasn’t he held in St. Lucia, when detected, and brought back straight to Jamaica by the authorities? After all, this was more than an immigration violation. This is Capital murder.

The article more reads like a fairy tale. A simple google search would have revealed that Hill was not wanted in JA 18 months ago but since Aug 2017, hence about 9 months ago. It also makes no sense that he is wanted in JA yet was able to come to Antigua from JA or another port without the claimed warnings catching him

Reading some of the comments submitted by still griping political ‘flaps’, it is no wonder that criminal minds would turn to Antigua for refuge! Seriously though, the immigration authorities owe the nation both an explanation and an apology for their lax (not laxxed) performance of their duties. This is inexcusable and indefensible. Dare I suggest a serious formal investigation followed by severe consequences for those guilty of this gross security breach.
