The World Bank says Antigua and Barbuda
The twin island nation actually dropped from 107 in 2018 to 112 in 2019.
The results of the latest study were released today by the authors.
The report highlighted Antigua and Barbuda for improving credit information systems.
It said, Antigua and Barbuda improved access to credit information through the introduction of regulations that govern the licensing and functioning of credit bureaus in the member states of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union(ECCU).
Of the 25 reforms carried out in the region during the past year, seven were in the area of Getting Credit.
Besides Brazil and the Bahamas, among the other economies that improved credit information systems were Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Haiti, and Jamaica.
News in other areas wasn’t so good for Antigua and Barbuda, where it relates to quality control during construction.
This particular index ranges from 0 to 3, with higher values indicating better quality control during the construction process.
In Antigua and Barbuda, for example, the Development Control Authority is legally mandated to conduct phased inspections under the Physical Planning Act of 2003 (a score of 1).
However, the Development Control Authority rarely conducts these inspections in practice (a score of 0). Adding these numbers gives Antigua and Barbuda a score of 1 on the quality control during
