“Ensuring the safety of youth around the twin island state is my duty, and whatever I can do within my powers to ensure the safety of all schools it will be done.”

Minister of Public Safety the Hon. Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin made those remarks during a presentation ceremony of a fully automatic CCTV security system to the St. Peters Primary School situated in Belmont on Monday may 14th 2018.

Benjamin, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for the Constituency in which the school is located, stated that time after time he has received reports that persons continue to vandalize the property and, that it is a cause for concern.

Benjamin continued that the security system in that he presented is a fully-automatic camera system that will take pictures of anyone who comes on the schools property. He added this will make it easier for law enforcement officials to catch the perpetrator or perpetrators as they commit offenses against the school property.

The Public Safety Minister encouraged the children to be respectful to parents and teachers and listen attentively and have fun while learning. Benjamin says he will become a care taker for the educational facility and whatever their needs are he will do his best to assist.

  1. congrats. I hope the school will see a marked reduction/elimination in offenses against the school property

  2. Although, crime is everywhere, it is strange that the AG’s backyard have so many elements of it.

Now AG what about the other schools?

You boasting about a primary school that the parents pay school fees to, but what about the government schools which almost everyday has some form of breaking-in and vandalism.

Just “about” two weeks ago 3 individuals tried breaking into Sir Novelle Richard’s Academy’s Home EC center, and strange enough it was not reported in the media. Yes, you have paid security guards at this school and others such as PMS, ALL Saints and Ottos Comprehensive but one lonely female can’t stop a two or three thusty men. These women are just trying to get a likkle jab to go home so that they can see and feed them chil’ren.

So I asking AG Cutie, again, what about the government schools when are they going to get better security AND Insurance for the teachers whom sometimes try to part underage big men and big women from killing each other at school?

    Hmmm.
