APUA announced today that as a result of a motor vehicle accident on All Saints Road which occurred on Sunday August 26th, 2018, the APUA Telecoms infrastructure responsible for the transmission of landline and internet services was destroyed.

This caused an immediate disruption in telecommunication services to customers hosted by this cabinet. Approximately 400 subscribers have been affected.

Given the severity of the damage to the cabinet and its contents, a replacement unit is currently being installed and a number of underground telephone cables are manually being replaced and reconnected in manholes and overhead.

The APUA Telecommunications Business Unit said that the restoration of services will be a gradual process and subscribers can expect restoration within the coming days.

Affected are customers residing and operating in sections of Cashew Hill, American Road, All Saints Road and Belmont. Work is underway to restore telecoms services in the coming days.
