Industrial action continues for yet another day by staffers at the National Broadcasting Station ABS Television-Radio.

On Thursday morning General Manager of the media house, Erna-Mae Braithwaite, sent an email asking that staff return to work since the issue was referred to the Labour Department late last week.

However, under advice from the AT&LU,  staff are continuing protest action until all issues are addressed and finalized before the Labour Commissioner.

The first meeting with the Labour Department and the Union is scheduled for Friday at 10am.

Today marks a week since the staff both at ABS Television/Radio and the Ministries Head Office IT Department downed tools over issues they need addressed by management.

  1. Can these people just be fired already? If I didn’t show up for work for 7 days at my company, I would have been fired a long time ago already. PM Browne, please fire these people ASAP!

    • Public Servants are a different breed of people. The even have the right to stay at home and don’t work and still expect to get full pay. Sad thing this happens with our scares tax resources.

  2. And up to now no official remarks from the manager. Is ABS a personal media house?

Based on the manager’s response to this issue, can one conclude the staff are treated in like manner perhaps worst since the manager thinks no one is looking….

No feature on this issue from the media house, so is it reasonable to conclude that all information coming from them is subjective…..

    • The manager has spoken to the media. Abs itself has reported on the actual matter. They did so again during tonight’s newscast.

  3. So staff are ask to return to work by tomorrow. We will see how these things work out. And they have been promised no victimization. Are they that scared?
