NEW WINTHORPES MAN ARRESTED FOR MODIFIED FLARE GUN AND AMMUNITION
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Wednesday, May 21, 2025
Austin Robin of New Winthorpes is in police custody following his arrest for possession of an illegal firearm and one round of ammunition.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, police officers were conducting routine patrols in the vicinity of the West Bus Station near the Fisheries Complex when they observed certain suspicious activity.
The suspect was seen carrying bag with a modified flare gun and one (1) 9mm round of ammunition. He was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
The police remain committed to their efforts to rid the streets of illegal weapons and are urging members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement to keep communities safe.

The suspect was SEEN “carrying a bag with a modified flare gun and one 9mm round of ammunition….” Wow! Was this a plastic/transparent ball with its contents visible to the nakedness eye! Amazing!

Wow! What superior vision! Were the gun and ammunition “seen” by the naked eye, in a bag carried by the arrested man? Was this a transparent plastic bag???
Wait! This man came to Antigua on a visitors visa and was running an illegal Marijuana farm, and was only arrested and the farm raided after his country man went missing.
Why is he on bail, since Gaston claim the missing man that work on this farm, always left Antigua by boat smuggling the cannabis?
What would someone be doing with a modified flare gun? Sounds suspicious.
