New guard rail installations have commenced across Antigua and Barbuda as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety, the Ministry of Works has said.
The ministry explained that the project forms part of its continued commitment to protecting motorists and reducing the severity of road traffic accidents.
According to officials, the newly installed guard rails are designed to improve safety along key roadways by helping to prevent vehicles from leaving the carriageway, particularly in high-risk areas.

The Ministry of Works said the initiative reflects a broader focus on creating safer roads for all road users. However, motorists are being reminded that infrastructure improvements alone cannot eliminate road accidents.
Drivers are being urged to remain alert, obey traffic laws and practise responsible driving at all times.
The ministry stressed that while safety measures can help save lives, safer roads ultimately depend on safer choices by road users.

Dont know what is the plan for that stretch of road into Pigotts but those rails need replacing. They are dilapidated, the are on the ground in most cases and due to the build up dirt around them, they delay the run off of water.
Let’s see how long they last….
Drivers these days seem to aim for stationary objects. The one on Friar’s Hill road by Woods didn’t last long and neither did the one by the roundabout by Premier Beverages.
Maybe it’s time to start putting concrete pillars instead.
Completely in agreement with that my dear Maria. I would also request of you to also put a guard rail around your husband we desperately need all the the protection we can get firm thus run-a-way freight train
