The government is contemplating auctioning the Alfa Nero, a 267ft superyacht causing them significant trouble, docked in Falmouth Harbour for over two years.
Despite legal challenges, the government is determined to sell it.
The vessel was auctioned on June 6th, 2023, but ownership issues are still unresolved. Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst stated at a Cabinet Press Conference that they intend to sell it, hoping for a swift resolution if the matter reaches the Privy Council again.

he Alfa Nero garnered attention due to its association with Andrey Guryev, a Putin associate on international sanctions lists.
In the previous auction, preferred bidders Eric Schmidt and Warren Halle cooled their interest, citing legal delays and alleged auction rule violations, respectively.

Alfa Nero again? The cabinet is truly just a den of thieves. Do they really think these oligarchs are going to just sit back and allow these thieves to sell their property? Ask the US. People are not stupid. These oligarchs and their money have reach. Just another deflection.
I recently came to antigua, meaning I am not even a citizen but the alfa Nero has been lingering in the air like bad news. If the government was really willing to sell it I strongly believe they would have done so a long time ago. They have links, connections come on now.
They just love to be messy, that’s all I can say about this dumb, inept administration.
