NEIL GUYE CHARGED WITH UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM & AMMUNITION
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Sunday, April 27, 2025
Police have arrested and charged 32-year-old Neil Guye of Clare Hall with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, police executed a search warrant at a property in Clare Hall occupied by the accused. During the operation, officers discovered one (1) 9mm Colt pistol and ninety-five (95) rounds of matching ammunition in his possession.
He was taken into custody and later charged for the offences. Guye is expected to appear before the court on Monday to answer to the charges.
The Police Administration is again reminding the public that the National Gun Amnesty is currently ongoing, and encourages all persons in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition to surrender them without fear of arrest or prosecution.

I am hoping that very soon the penalty will be increased and making the maximum ten years instead of five.

I read all the comments that you all leave on the page, you call them fools and idiots, but when you call the cops, them never reach until you dead, sad to say, that is why some people fear to turn over their gun/s. Am not saying it is right to have an illegal fire arm but where is a cop when you need one. And I cannot understand why the police stations in antigua closing before 12 at night s.m.h.
Don’t you see it is the only place police is making government money by sleeping, no police station supposed to close, they should be just like the hospital 24/7. Buck up uno self and you will see the young man them bring in the guns. Am out
Clearly no matter what they do nobody is bringing in these firearms. You can’t trust the police. You can’t trust the government. So as I heard a guy said “me scared, Cyah even trust the police, look at Ed, he dey carry een he fire arm and them charge he”. Think of how they just wanna see the criminals there is
Let’s search and dig deep. These guns get out there by a person in high authority. We never heard of a gun bust or whatever but there’s always a drug bust on port. Personally, the person I got the gun from would go down too
Let’s be reminded that mongoose is a very popular person in Antigua. Ofc they will have a picture of him. They can’t take a picture of a random person not knowing if it’s the right person.
Once he is convicted, his picture might be posted. I say might because I observed a double standard in posting convicted criminals photos.
Another occupant for His Majesty Prison. Can’t be sorry for people when they were offered an opportunity to hand in their firearm as part of the amnesty. It would seem to suggest that friends are possibly squealing on some of these illegal firearms holders and opening them up for police search.
Honestly, from the bottom of my heart to the people calling an illegal firearm owner a fool. Do you kno the difficulty to get a licenced firearm as a small businessman rather worse average civilian? Now what about when u have people that want your life for having more than them and trying to elevate yourself. What about people trying to melt you with acid. If my life is in danger i dont want a phone, I want a gun. Thats how most of us feel safe. Not waiting for some costume wearing, people harassing a-holes who act off their feelings most of the times.
