The artistic community in Antigua and Barbuda is mourning the loss of Tyrell “TJ” Buckley, a gifted performer and dedicated member of the National Youth Theatre, who has passed away at the age of 19.
In a statement, the Department of Culture – Ministry of Creative Industries paid tribute to Buckley, describing him as a young man of “dedication, passion, and artistic excellence” whose impact on the creative arts would not be forgotten.
Buckley, known for his captivating performances in both theatre and music, was widely regarded as an emerging star. His talent shone at the 2023 Theatre Festival, where he earned awards for Best Actor and Best Improvisation Piece, demonstrating his exceptional skill and depth as a performer.
Beyond the accolades, Buckley was remembered for his kindness and encouragement of others in the arts. Colleagues and mentors described him as a supportive presence who uplifted those around him, making them “feel seen, heard, and valued.”
The Department of Culture highlighted his natural ability to connect with people and his unwavering enthusiasm for the creative industry. “His presence brought light and inspiration, and his impact will continue to be felt for years to come,” the statement read.
As tributes pour in from fellow artists and community members, Buckley’s legacy in the performing arts remains one of brilliance and promise.

He truly was a special student. In all my 28 years of teaching, few were like Tyrell. My heart aches for this loss and I can’t even imagine how his family feels. A fallen star, I will always remember.

Young talent in the arts is so rare to find. A monument should be named in his honor later down the road as the dust settles.

It’s upsetting to know that Antigua’s government took the position to forced children into taking an experimental gene therapy shot in order to attend school. And now, they’re silent & acts as if there’s nothing is occuring. All these untimely deaths, increases in cancers, increases in all caused morbidity & mortality are not normal.
The original inventor of the mЯИ∀ platform warned NOT to give this technology to children. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.
How many more children are going to have to die before we implement a strategy to try an mitigate the ongoing systemic inflammation and attack on the immune system? When will those in charge grow a conscience and stop pretending if they ignore this problem that it will just go away?

Instead of the RIP and condolences- people need to get to hell up and seek justice for their loved ones – not just this young man – but the numerous others in the past. This is a nightmare that people needs to wake up from – it’s like they’re in Comas. Wow! It’s amazingly refreshing to see that some of us are not only aware but willing to talk about it!! I would love to see now that “covid19 board” that was being drilled into our eyes morning noon and night with the number of “infected”, “recovered” and “deaths of (but rather WITH covid)….but this time keeping count of turbo cancers, sudden deaths, myocardias, misscarriages, etc on the jabbed Vs the ones that dodged the bullet.
Unfortunately this is a worldwide problem, we follow the WHO and other organizations ordering and forcing us to take these vaccines.We are being poisoned by the processed foods and medicines. Our Caribbean people have always known how to medicate and build our immune system but vaccines don’t.the ‘pandemic’ and those vaccines wrecked our lives.My condolences go,out to his family.
