The National Youth Theatre Company of Antigua and Barbuda has celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of performances, training and cultural expression.
The Department of Culture said the group has spent the past 20 years offering audiences “drama, laughter and memories”, while helping young performers develop their skills and confidence. Its productions, the department added, have taken theatregoers “on emotional roller coaster rides” with stories rooted in local culture and life lessons.
An awards dinner and banquet was held to commemorate the milestone, bringing together past and present members along with long-standing supporters. The department described the event as a night of “laughter, surprises and all the emotions expected” at such a celebration.
During the ceremony, the theatre company recognised individuals and stakeholders who have played a key role in its growth. Officials said the company continues to thrive because of the strong backing it receives from the community.
The Department of Culture praised the group’s contribution to national arts development and said it looks forward to its continued impact “for many more years”.
