The government’s “Month of No Litter” campaign is set to become a year-round effort as growing numbers of Antiguans and Barbudans pledge support for keeping the country clean.

Director of Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office, Maurice Merchant, said the response has been “remarkable,” with entertainers, athletes, educators and students joining the cause.

“From the who’s who in sports, entertainment, and education, to young people who excelled in CAPE and CXC—all have pledged to use their voices to raise awareness,” he said.

The initiative is part of the National Cleanup Campaign, launched under the theme Love Where You Live and led by the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, alongside the Solid Waste Management Authority and the Ministries of Health and Works.

Merchant said the campaign’s growing popularity shows a “positive shift in national consciousness” and described it as “a people’s movement rather than a government campaign.”
