JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda – 27th July – 2022…. MSC is excited to host a Job Recruitment Drive in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Investment and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.
Hundreds of Antiguan and Barbudan citizens will have the opportunity to enter the exciting field in the cruise tourism industry, as the Ministry of Tourism & Investment will begin to accept applications for the MSC Cruise Line Recruitment drive from today, Wednesday, 27th July to 5th August 2022.
Minister of Tourism and Investment, the Hon. Charles Fernandez, stated that this employment recruitment drive is indicative of the talent easily found here in Antigua and Barbuda. Minister Fernandez noted that MSC made contact with his office, indicating their eagerness to host a recruitment drive in Antigua and Barbuda soon after a recently-concluded cruise job fair.
“Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism industry continues to shine in the international fora, and we can see the fruits of this spotlight. We have industry professionals recruited for jobs in the Jersey Islands, Royal Caribbean Cruise line and now MSC Cruise Line is offering up to 225 persons to be contracted for employment. This is what resilient rebounding looks like after a global pandemic. This is what next-level tourism engagement looks like,” Fernandez stated.
Individuals will be able to log onto www.visitantiguabarbuda.com to access the online information, which will display job descriptions, pay scales, and additional information for the positions being made available. Applicants will have the option to email their resumes for their respective job choices to [email protected].
According to Ms. Simone Richards, Policy Specialist within the Ministry of Tourism & Investment, “job opportunities will be available in Greece, Dubai, and Brazil. All ship positions are being made available and the application process will be conducted in three phases. There will first be a prescreening process, then an invitation-only interview for individuals who meet the minimum requirement. Successful candidates will then proceed to technical interviews with MSC Talent Acquisition Team. Applicants should be citizens living in Antigua and Barbuda. “

Interesting Govt. promoting this opportunity while various tourism businesses on island are under staffed, and hospitality service is our country’s main income earner.
Strategic…
All skilled hospitality professionals who are interested in learning the service in the cruise sector, take this opportunity and develop yourselves internationally.
Covid is is still around and cruise ships have not avoided it. What happened to their regular source of employees, like the Philippines and India? Cruise ship work seems glamorous but it is not. When in port you can only peep to see the countries. No time to go ashore as you have plenty work to do. One guy from St. Lucia told me the work hard and he has to work smart. Didn’t ask him what he meant. Don’t remember how many rooms he said he had to tidy up, but it was plenty.
