St Mary’s South MP Kelvin “Shugy” Simon has criticised the lack of progress in the investigation into the fatal police shooting of Kahleel Simon in Bolans, telling Parliament during his 2026 Budget rebuttal that the silence from authorities is eroding public trust.
He described the incident as “reckless” and accused the government of failing to be transparent about the probe.
Relatives of the deceased have staged repeated protests outside Police Headquarters, demanding the dismissal of the officer involved.
Simon warned that the handling of the case has deepened mistrust between communities and law enforcement. “The deafening silence from law enforcement doesn’t speak well,” he said. “It is not encouraging for people to work with the police; now they see police as an enemy.”

Go sit down Mr. WINKKUP PASTOR. You are a disgrace
News flash they always were the enemy
They will never do any serious investigations because they still haven’t told the truth about Asot’s demise. Remember that this is by design.
@Eagle eye, why not try to explain yourself instead of making inane soundbites towards Kelvin “Shugy” Simon?
Have you tried education at any point in your life?
Remember, if you are going to comment on ANR threads, make some sort of effort to write coherently. Or are you trying to take the “nonsensical WORD trophy” from that ABLP irreligious lunatic and nutcracker @Less We Forget?
Are you also an illiterate nincompoop?
Shugy Simon , you are a DAMN ass. You sounded so stupid in Parliament. Hope you remember what J TRUTH said about you and confirmed by your close friend DAINTY. We will never vote for you again in St. Mary’s South. Shugy stay away from young girls. You are CROOK.
He was at St Mary’s Secondary during Independence watching de teachers and students licking his lips 😆
Shuggie should learn the 1st lessons of our Parliamentary Democracy. And that is. There are Three Equal Branches of Government.
1) The Executive Branch
2) The Legislative Branch
3) The Judiciary Branch
Then someone should remind him that Parliament is the Legislative Branch and he sits in it. So if he needs something from the Judiciary, Parliament is not the place for it.
