Member of Parliament for All Saints West Anthony Smith Jr. has expressed condolences following the killing of Freemans Village shopkeeper Eleazer Francis, widely known as “Fresshy.”
Francis was shot and killed early Thursday morning, prompting a police investigation.
Smith described Francis as a hardworking business owner and community figure whose shop served as more than a place of business.
“For many, it was not just a place of business but a welcoming space where generosity, compassion and community spirit were always present,” Smith said. “His dedication and service left a lasting impact on countless lives.”
Smith said the loss is being felt throughout Freemans Village and the wider All Saints West community.
“We have lost someone whose contributions to our community can never be replaced,” he said.
Smith also pledged his support for the police investigation and called for those responsible to be brought to justice.
“Our community deserves answers, and Eleazer and his family deserve justice,” he said.
He urged residents to support Francis’ family and stand together as the community mourns.
Police have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
