Maria Hurst, the mother of 24-year-old Noah Hurst, has expressed her frustration at the perceived lack of police assistance in finding her missing son.
Noah was last seen on May 23, and since then, Maria claims that the police have not provided adequate support in the investigation.
She shared her concerns during an interview on Observer AM yesterday, highlighting her disappointment with the handling of the case.
Maria recounted her interactions with the police, stating that she initially reported Noah’s disappearance at the Police Headquarters, but the response was not satisfactory.
She made additional reports at the St. John’s Police Station and the Criminal Investigation Department, expecting further action.
However, when she followed up at the All Saints Police Station, she discovered that the report had not been passed on as promised.
Noah’s cell phone, which was found at his home, raised suspicions as it was unusual for him not to have it with him. Maria believed that examining the phone records could provide crucial information about the day Noah went missing.
However, she claimed that the police could not unlock the phone due to issues at the cyber lab. Frustrated by the situation, Maria decided to conduct her own investigation.
In response to Maria’s concerns, police spokesperson Inspector Frankie Thomas denied any lack of support, emphasizing that they were treating the case with urgency and attention.
Inspector Thomas assured the family of their commitment to finding Noah and mentioned the organized searches conducted with the assistance of soldiers and the public.
The case of Noah Hurst adds to a list of individuals who have gone missing in Antigua and Barbuda over the years, leaving their families without any information about their whereabouts.
The unresolved cases, including those of Kevin Millett Jr, Kevorn Bailey, Shamar Harrigan, Hyacinth Gage, Roman Mussabekov, and Keri-Ann Joshua, reflect the ongoing challenges faced in finding missing persons in the country.
