St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Thursday, 05 June 2025


The elderly man who was reported missing has been found. Around 7:20 am on Thursday, 5th June, Police officers attached to the Special Services Unit (SSU) carried out an extensive search and they found 82-year-old Mr. Laurence Reginald Williams of Coolidge in the Bendals area.

He was reported missing on Wednesday, 4th June 2025, at about 19:00hrs.


He was provided with medical treatment and has since been reunited with his family, who are now attending to his well-being.


The Police Administration is particularly pleased with the swift response and concern demonstrated by members of the public in this sensitive matter.


Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Everton Jeffers, extends sincere thanks to all who assisted and continues to encourage the public’s cooperation and support in safeguarding vulnerable members within our community.

  1. It is frustrating and frankly unacceptable how little information has been provided. The lack of proper reporting is not only annoying—it raises more questions than it answers. What condition was he found in? Was he discovered inside his car or elsewhere? Was he alone or with someone? Was he coherent and of sound mind at the time? These are basic, critical details that should be clarified if the public is expected to understand or make sense of the situation. The absence of this information only fuels speculation and concern. Still, happy to hear that he was found.
