Ministry of Works to Undertake Three Major Building Projects

The Ministry of Works is preparing to launch three major construction and renovation projects, according to the government’s latest Cabinet briefing.

Director General of Communications Maurice Merchant said the ministry “will be tackling a few other major projects outside of the building of roads,” adding that plans are underway for the All Saints Clinic, the St. John’s Fire Station, and the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters on Queen Elizabeth Highway.

“Estimates are being put together for the renovation and even the construction of these three facilities,” Merchant said, noting that the fire station once located near the Antigua Recreation Grounds has been temporarily relocated to the Villa area adjacent to the Hell’s Gate Steel Orchestra.

He said the Ministry of Works, which continues to expand its islandwide road-building program, “will be addressing the fire station there, adjacent to the Antigua Recreation Grounds, and also the Ministry of Agriculture building.”

The ministry’s projects are part of the government’s broader effort to modernize public infrastructure and restore key community facilities across Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. Only now plans are on they way? Especially all saints clinic no one touched that since it was closed. So no plans was made when it was closed or even planned before it was closed when people were complaining about the state of the building?
