The Ministry of Tourism has dismissed social media claims that garbage was left scattered across the Rising Sun Grounds after its Tourism Blast Off event on 22 November, saying cleanup crews cleared the area the same night.
According to the Ministry, the National Solid Waste Management Authority confirmed that all trash and receptacles were removed before teams left the venue on Saturday.
Officials said the site was fully cleaned as part of the standard post-event procedure.
The Ministry added that a separate, unrelated event was held at the grounds on 23 November and believes that activity is the likely source of the litter shown in a viral video circulating online.
Tourism officials said they remain committed to maintaining clean and safe public spaces and thanked the public for its understanding while the situation is clarified.

You need to get your facts straight before you go making yourself a fool on social media, this garbage was left there by on Sunday by the people who had a function i passed the function there while on my way to another function at the botanical gardens so get your facts straight before pointing fingers 👉 the function from Saturday has nothing to do with this garbage on the field so please apologize to the ministry for your false accusations
Soooo, I’m seeing gabbage or the UPP is so behind the government that they choose to be up early looking attention? Just asking
SMDH people are just so vindictive
These persons in the Ministry of Tourism are so full-of-shit (in my opinion).
The garbage was there from their tourism event.
I was up at Rising Sun Grounds on Sunday 23rd November 2025, as it is the hang-out spot for some local guys.
The garbage was there on Sunday, BEFORE the volley ball people started their activity.
I can recall a conversation between our crew, as some were saying that the garbage would have been collected on a Sunday and some were saying it would not have been.
As a matter of fact, I called a particular person at Solid Waste (I will not call the name now) and asked the person to have someone pick up the garbage that was left on the field and to empty the almost full
garbage-drum beside the viewing-stand.
Are these tourism persons saying that it was the volley-ball people who left two (2) pieces of what appear to be a part of a stage on the eastern side of the field (in the vicinity of the club-house)? Give me a break.
These Tourism people are such liars.
When our crew got back on the viewing stand on Monday 24th November 2025, at approximately 1:00pm, and we realized that the garbage was not collected up to that time, we filmed it and posted it on facebook.
A few minutes after our post, we realize that another citizen had videoed the state of the ground and posted it on facebook too.
Up to today, Tuesday 25th November 2025, the over-full garbage-drum beside the viewing stand was not emptied. Garbage will be blowing all over the place very soon.
The lies nar go work this time because we know.
