
The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs today held a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Centre for Caribbean Studies at Hangzhou Normal University to advance ongoing discussions on strengthening Antigua and Barbuda’s health sector.
The delegation, led by Professor Zhang Xingwei, a distinguished cardiovascular specialist and head of the university’s Affiliated Hospital, met with Sir Molwyn Joseph, Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, as well as Director of the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Shivon Belle-Jarvis and Minister of State, Clement Antonio.
During the meeting, both sides outlined the next steps toward deepening cooperation in several key areas.
Minister Joseph welcomed the partnership and emphasized that these discussions align with the Government’s wider commitment to improving healthcare delivery, strengthening resilience, and ensuring that all residents benefit from modern, efficient, and people-centered health services.
The meeting reaffirmed both parties’ commitment to continued collaboration and the development of practical, sustainable initiatives to enhance the nation’s health outcomes.
