Ministry of Health & The Environment, Antigua and Barbuda: The Ministry of Health is in the process of temporarily relocating the Browne’s Avenue Clinic to the Infectious Disease Center at the Holberton Hospital.

This decision is part of an ongoing effort to facilitate essential refurbishments at the Browne’s Avenue Clinic, to ensure the delivery of improved healthcare services to the community.

Minister of Health, Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph, emphasised the importance of maintaining uninterrupted access to healthcare services while necessary upgrades take place.

“The Browne’s Avenue Clinic plays a critical role in our healthcare system, and we are committed to ensuring that it continues to serve the public effectively.

While plans are being finalized for its temporary relocation, we assure the public that every measure is being taken to minimise disruptions and enhance service delivery.”

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has already allocated funding to cover the cost of the refurbishments, recognizing the vital role the clinic plays in community healthcare.

Meanwhile, the Pediatric Department of the Browne’s Avenue Clinic has already been relocated to the Villa Polyclinic, where pediatric services continue without interruption.

Permanent Secretary Stacey Gregg-Paige reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to a smooth transition. “We understand that change can bring concerns, but this move is necessary to modernize the clinic and improve the quality of care for all who depend on it.

We encourage the public to remain patient and stay tuned for updates on where additional services will be offered during this period.”

This development is part of the Ministry’s broader initiative to upgrade healthcare facilities across Antigua and Barbuda. It follows the successful refurbishments of clinics in Bolans and Liberta, demonstrating the government’s continued investment in improving healthcare infrastructure.

The Ministry will provide further updates as plans are finalized and will communicate details regarding the timeline and logistics of the relocation. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official Ministry channels.

  1. Results after the shame! If it wasn’t published how bad the clinic is nothing would have been done! Now the PS comes with fancy words to say it been taken care of. People just hold titles and does nothing.

  2. Relocation in this power house is almost always permanent.
Everything under the watch of Mr Titanium is falling apart.
Considering his advanced age one would want to believe that he would give urgent attention to the health facilities
Sadly our tax dollars are going to a cemetery instead.
One would believe that health facilities to save our lives would get priority.
    No
    Cemetery gets priority.
We are worth more dead to this cabal.
Once we have voted we can die.
    They don’t give a damb!!!!
As I am at it leat me ask you Mr Titanium.
Where is the money that was given for the construction of Fiennes?
Did the 4 million go towards the drawing of a plan?
If you knew that you had diverted the mo y why did you demolish structure the were there?
Since the place is fenced we might as well use it as a paddock.
Since you love antiques so much why did you give the green light for the demolition of the old building at Fiennes?

  3. What is needed is a large Polyclinic for the area, not refurbishment. This clinic serves so many communities and has become redundant with the overcrowding. Take a look at the private doctors operating in the area. This speaks to a need that the Government system has failed to deliver. Healthcare is vital to any nation. That clinic should be refurbished into a Pediatric only clinic and a new Polyclinic constructed on the grounds of the old ABS Radio station and would take a lot of pressure off SLBMC

  4. The name needs to be changed. It is located on All Saints Road in the community of Martins Village. There is no community with the name Browne’s Ave, it is Martin’s Village. Browne’s Ave is the road connecting All Saints Road to Whenner Road. Know your history!!!!!
