I’m sure they wrote those cheques between Tuesday and Wednesday and now making it seems like they were there all the time and the teachers did not go for them.
It is interesting that the ministry chose to do it that way.
Is that their way of attempting to embarass the teachers’ union for standing up?
Doesn’t the ministry know where each and every teacher is posted?
How did they get in contact with the teachers in the past?
If the teachers have been taking industrial action since Friday and you are now publishing a list of unclaimed cheques sinve when have those cheques been in possession of the ministry of education or the treasury?
I have for a long time said that we have the worst education minister in Antigua’s history.
Actions like this are proving me right, right, right.
If the ministry is so concerned about the educational development of they children and the teachers union have been in protest mode why didn’t they use a dispatcher and have the cheque’s taken to the teachers quickly and put an end to the protest action?
Leadership matters!!!
This will continue for as long as Daryll Matthew continues to be the minister of education.
Sadly, the UPP has extended his political life by selecting a loser to challenge him at the next general elections.
Had the UPP chosen Jermaine Edwards as their candidate Daryll Matthew would have already conceded long before elections ia announced.
Jermaine Edwards remains the only person capable of taking down Daryll next elections..
I was enjoying your comment until you started speaking about Jermaine. Must be Jermaine who wrote that comment. I have lived in the rural south community ally life and I don’t know her. She claims to be from the same area as me and yet I don’t know her. She would have never gotten my vote
@Straight Shooter. If the teachers so wanted their monies and others would have gotten their monies, why wouldn’t tje others have checked to see if theirs was there. Also, who is going to drive to deliver all these checks. Someone can correct me if me nah talk right. Mr. Shooter, your hypocrisy is unwavering. A+ grade! Ya’ll too sour and bitter. EVERYTHING is politics though not political. I pray ya’ll don’t ever get to use glass bakkle fu wipe aryou yeye.
I will not be silent in this matter, the ministry of education apparently is looking sympathy from the public; however none will be forthcoming
I ask these pertinent questions
1. How long have been the principals, deputy principals, head of department personnel been owed? (2018-2024)
2. Why should teachers always be made to appear unreasonable?( Don’t they have bills, families, children etc., over worked, underpaid, and unappreciated)
3.Why should the honourable minister make it look as if everyone else is to be blamed except the ministry of education? ( Last sit in establishment, now treasury)
4. Why all of a sudden names are put in the public domain when some of the cheques according to sources are nearly expired? ( I suppose it’s the treasury’s fault)
5. Why is carnival more important than education?( The minister is a square peg in a round hole)
