As part of the Entrepreneurship Day 2025 activities held in secondary schools in Antigua and Barbuda, this year, there was an addition of a Mentrepreneurship Workshop, an initiative designed to inspire, educate, and equip the next generation of male leaders and entrepreneurs.
The workshop held on Friday, 7th November 2025, under the theme “Empowering Young Men with Entrepreneurial Skills for the Future,” provided young men with practical guidance on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal development, and professional grooming.
Through interactive sessions, team challenges, mentorship discussions, and building your business plan, individual activity, young men explored how to turn ideas into viable business ventures and how to develop the mindset of successful entrepreneurs.
Coordinator of the Mentrepreneurship workshop, Dr. Janelle O’Mard, Education Officer with business responsibilities, said this year’s focus was on the boys as she believed more guidance was needed to help shape our next generation of young men to become business leaders who are innovative, responsible, and impactful when to time comes and make meaningful contributions to society.
The Mentrepreneurship Workshop aims not only to develop entrepreneurial skills but also to foster positive values and self-confidence among young men. Special guest speakers for the event were Mr. Kadesh Bailey – Web Developer, Mr. Bernard Peters – Visual Arts Specialist, Mr. Colin John Jenkins – CJC & Associates and Mr. Kevin Morgan – KM Morgan Mens Collection These local business leaders and motivational mentors from both the private and public sectors, who shared insights on overcoming challenges, building resilience, and leading with integrity were an inspiration. Gratitude was extended to the speakers for their continued commitment to youth empowerment and national development.
The All Saints Secondary School, Sir Novelle Richards Academy, and the Pares Secondary School have Business Departments have already started their Entrepreneurship Day activities. Be on the lookout for the school in your community, as some schools will be showcasing a marketplace.
