
Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Wellness. Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Senator Michael Joseph, and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Colin O’Keiffe, are currently attending the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Pooled Procurement Services (PPS) Meeting and the Ministers of Health Meeting in Grenada.
The five-day meeting, which runs from October 20–24, 2025, brings together senior officials and technical representatives from OECS member states to discuss strategies for improving regional pharmaceutical procurement and supply chain management.
The OECS Pooled Procurement Services initiative plays a vital role in ensuring the availability, affordability, and quality of essential medicines and medical supplies across the region. The meeting will address key issues such as cost containment, equitable access, and strengthening of procurement systems to support resilient healthcare delivery.
The participation of Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation underscores the Government’s commitment to regional collaboration and to advancing efficient, transparent, and sustainable health systems for the benefit of all citizens.
The Ministry looks forward to the outcomes of this engagement and to implementing recommendations that enhance national procurement processes and promote greater health security for the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
