The Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) has confirmed that the increase in the minimum monthly pension from EC$350 to EC$500 officially took effect on April 2, 2025.
The move is aimed at boosting support for the country’s most vulnerable pensioners and delivering on a promise to improve their quality of life.
The ABSSB described the change as a positive step toward strengthening social protection in the twin-island nation and encouraged beneficiaries to contact the Board with any questions regarding their updated payments.

Great news
It should have been since January 2025, will they be retroactively paid.
Long overdue!!
Does more money mean longer delays on payment ?
they should increase to $50
Ten years after a UPP pledge you are now rolling it out.
I cautioned the old folks who cannot feel pain that is is not a labour party initiative.
Try as hard as they may they can’t erase UPP from the history of this country.
Nice! Thanks ABLP for making this happen! Very good news for those pensioners who benefit.
Who can survive on $500 a month?????
