Michael Freeland has won a primary for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party in St. George.
He defeated his main competitor Joel Rayne, 331 votes, in a closely fought race.
Freeland amassed 360 votes in total. The other two competitors were Salim Browne (42) and Bakesha Francis James (142).
Freeland now steps into the role of caretaker for the ABLP for the constituency. The St. George seat is now held by Algernon ‘Serpent’ Watts of the main opposition UPP.

Make sure you do not conduct any auction before the next elections or Gaston will sell you out. Hopefully as you campaign for the next elections you will tell the people why you move from Rural East to St George. You will also tell what happened to the auction loot and how you were able to replace it.
Yeah… Mrs. James deserved it though. I hope that she keeps up the good work and continues to be a pillar in the community.
Between having a regular job, children, a home to run among many other things, it will be a harder fight. This isn’t the time to give up but prepare for a greater role to serve your country.
We are going witness a show of money in that constituency just now. They have not genuinely done anything for the people, only whenever the MP announces his plans they make special efforts to overshadow him with half-done roads and sidewalks. St. George’s residents would be really naive to elect a person who has shown his willingness to swindled them/us of $100k and was protected by his boss until he got in the way of his dear wife. He needs to be restricted from going any further.

CONGRATULATIONS MICHAEL FREELAND. You and Bakesha are the 2 politicians. The other 2 were helpful, but just would not cut it for Parliament. Kudos to all 4 for running a clean campaign. No fighting and fallout like what happens in Gisele’s party.
