Farm Worker Dies After Fall Through Roof on Dam Road
Antigua and Barbuda Police are investigating the death of 23-year-old Michael Alexander Garcia, a Dominican Republic national and father of a three-year-old, who died Saturday after reportedly falling through a roof while working on a farm.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in along Dam Road. Garcia was said to be on the roof of a building when he fell, suffering severe head injuries.
Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived to find him lying in a pool of blood.
Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians Marina Walker and Mekile Tonkinson are being commended for their efforts to resuscitate him.

Despite their attempts and continued efforts by doctors at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Garcia was later pronounced dead.
The tragedy has deeply affected Antigua’s Hispanic community, with many gathering at the hospital Saturday evening to mourn his death.

Sincere condolences to the young man, his daughter and the rest of his family and community. This could have been prevented.
So now, whenever the EMS go on a scene, their names are gonna mention? So will the doctors and nurses names be mention also for their continuous support and efforts to save and sustain life?
No man knows the hour. He probably went to work as usual and didnt come back. Why does the young die? He also has a baby. Was his life better in the spiritual realm than on earth? What about his child? Sometimes you wonder…and your mind drift…but God remains good in all things even when we don’t see and understand. Ŕip

To those who are fuming about the EMT workers who tended their patient, I am sure that they did not ask for their names to be called but someone saw them SAW THEIR EFFORTS, and felt that they needed extra recognition. Have you ever heard the phrase ‘above and beyond the call of duty’? Their efforts at trying to resuscitate that young man may have been seen that way. I would hope, God forbid, that should I need their services, those are the ones that come to my aid.
So to them, I say ‘Kudos, your act has not gone unseen nor unnoticed. Keep up your good work and do not allow detractors to deter you from your path’. God bless.
