A High Court jury has acquitted a 40-year-old medical student of rape charges, allowing him to focus on rebuilding his life.
The verdict, delivered on December 12, followed allegations by his 27-year-old classmate stemming from an August 2023 incident.
Justice Ann-Marie Smith presided over the trial.
The prosecution called six witnesses, while the defendant testified on his own behalf, securing a majority not guilty verdict.
Reports indicate the two shared a consensual relationship before the allegation arose, reportedly due to differing expectations.
Defense attorney Lawrence Daniels said the case severely disrupted the student’s studies and attendance, impacting his life significantly.

Weponising rape should be a crime in itself…
Disappointed expectations hurt. It is evil to ruin a mans life in an act of revenge
I never seem to understand why do we as women lie about rape that is not cool
I am glad some women are just vindictive go in peace my friend
I hope this gentle man goes on with his life in peace and never speak to her ever again
women so wicked they call rape and molestation on men, and also love give man jacket (wrong pickney)
imagine caring for a child until they are 12 years old, the mom died then you find out the child is not yours.
