Re: Recent Paediatric Death at Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Medical Centre

 

The staff of Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (SLBMSJMC) extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of the 2-year-old (male) patient who recently died at our hospital.

 

We understand the family’s desire for answers; however, we want to give them (and the community) the assurance that the circumstances which led to the death of the child will be investigated and corrective actions, if needed, implemented.

 

Understandably, due to privacy concerns, SLBMSJMC is unable to provide any further details at this time.

    1. How would we know if the final report is the truth

    2. Will an independent body involving a relative of the child carry out the investigations.

    3. If the investigation finds out that medical malpractice was involve would the family be
    (a) financially rewarded &
    (b) able to suit SLBMSJC medical board
