Government’s Chief of Staff Lionel ‘Max’ Hurst says there is absolutely no truth to a WhatsApp message making the rounds about impropriety by the General Manager of a certain state-owned media entity.

“There’s a certain wickedness in our culture that encourages people not only to say unkind things about others, but also to embellish them so that it becomes more and more difficult to assert the truth without appearing as though one is defending someone who — in my case — someone with whom I have some connections,” Hurst said on Observer Radio on Monday.

“I want to tell the Antiguan and Barbudan people that it’s all made up. It’s all fake. I don’t know where they got the story from. They themselves can’t authenticate their claim and so they themselves have said that it is a rumour.

“It is a rumour and I wish that we wouldn’t do that kind of thing to anybody in Antigua and Barbuda. It’s not helpful at all. Fake. It’s fake, it’s fake,” Hurst added.

  1. The most honest government, to keep secrets from the people. Him who is faithful in small matters will be faithful in greater matters, if we cannot know who we are getting a loan from. What make us think we will hear the truth where the General manager is concerned. Everything is a secret right now.

  2. They should put a more honest looking photo on the page. The picture say alot, it reminds me of Bill Clinton when he was being untruthful on the stand

  3. The Chief of Staff may be right. There are plenty lies and plenty liars in this place. Somebody started this story. Find out who it was, and you’ll find the motive behind it all. It may have nothing to do with politics. SOMEBODY started this thing. Find out “who” and you’ll find out “why”?

    • @CErmle…wen U dash tone, inna hag pen, de wan dat get hit, SQUEALS, “me-me-me-me…”

Translation: Whenever, a stone is tossed, into the pig’s sty, the piggly-wiggly which got hit, will SQUEAL, it’s me, me, me, me!

  4. I know Hurst very well. He lie like Trump and With a straight face. I know what he is capable of. He wicked and bad minded. I am talking from first hand knowledge. Tell him to challenge me.
