Matthew Rose and Byron Cross injured in Collins Road shooting

Matthew Rose, 25, and Byron Cross, 46, are in hospital after being shot during a gun attack in the Collins area on Tuesday evening.

Police say the two men were walking along Collins Road at about 7:30 p.m. when they were approached by two masked men, who opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Mr Rose was shot once in the back, with the bullet lodging in his abdomen, while Mr Cross sustained a gunshot wound to his right cheek.

Both men were taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and are reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators have not released a motive for the attack and say inquiries are continuing. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them or Crimestoppers.

  1. The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police and government solve crimes.

  2. When I go to Antigua I will carry bullet proof vest, if it is lawful to do so. I hereby request information pertaining to the carrying of bullet proof vest, pepper spray, etcetera. Please write an article about this someone, preferably, the Attorney General and or Commissioner of Police.

  4. Ok I’m confused. Is this separate from the reported shooting in Pares or we saying there were two shootings where two individuals got shot?

  6. Crime just seems to dominate the news these days. SHITTY. COUNTRY, SHITTY ADMINISTRATION can’t even come up with a proper policy to tackle crime. Time you all retire. Just do us this favour please
