Massive Yorks Cleanup Nears Completion With Nearly 12 Tons of Waste Collected

Derelict vehicle removal in Yorks community continues.

Love where You Live! Campaign is wrapping up in Yorks, spanning from Fort James drive across Anchorage Road down to Mckinnons pond to around Old Runaway.

Over the course of the campaign, crews collected an impressive eleven point eight (11.8) tons of bulk waste that had accumulated across public spaces, private homes and vacant lots. Forty-four (44) vacant plots were cleared of debris, overgrown trees, and bushes restoring them to safe and hygiene conditions and thirty-one (33) vehicles removed up to December 4th 2025.

Tree cutting and vegetation control were also conducted throughout the area, improving visibility and public safety while enhancing the overall appearance of the neighborhood.

The Authority is making its way to Point and central St. John’s to make these improvements, and encourages residents to put out their waste out for timely collection and to maintain the pristine environment that would be left.

The Authority is imploring to residents that once the team has left the area and additional bulk waste is accumulated to call the Authority at 562-2019 to have it collected and not to place it on curbsides or outside homes.

  2. To the west of The West Country Pond, in the area where cars are washed,there is a pedestrian thru pass that is now closed by a business called Julies.
    A pass thru from Tanner St where the gutter acts as lane division for East & West bound vehicles to Nevis st is now fenced off.
    Was this authorized by your division?
    I’ve used it for yrs,,was agahst when I had to walk up to Independence Dr,headed to the bus station.

  3. I want ANR to know I also love the place I live which is West Palm Beach, Bolans. The last comment I sent about the 2 duty Nissan vehicles on the road to The Orchard Supermarket till deh up to now and you did not carry that comment. Dem want fu move pronto me no kay that dem vote Labour what goes for one must go for all
