On Tuesday morning, a masked gunman stole XCD$50.00 from Merelis Restaurant on DeSouza Road.
The owner, who spotted the gunman approaching, fled with her bag and was threatened but not shot at.
After failing to rob a nearby superette whose owners quickly locked the doors, the gunman seized the $50.00 from the restaurant.
Police suspect he may be connected to a similar robbery at another superette on DeSouza Road earlier this month.

Imagine going to jail for $50. Idiot!
50Ec dollars
Like really
Like come on best u did go plant some crops n sell a market pon Saturday times
the intended haul was not for $50 but he settled for what he got 🤣😂 I’m glad both establishments saw him coming and prepared. this happened in broad daylight!! is he under 18? the curfew won’t work
And they believe that keeping children in from 9pm will decrease the robberies which occur in broad daylight.
Good luck Joe!
Shame he didn’t get $50 and a bullet in the head! Hopefully next time.
I understand she saw him coming got the bulk of the cash and her bag and ran, also understand another near by business saw him approaching and quickly closed it’s door. So are you telling me none of these business have a license firearm that they could’ve made use of since they both saw him approaching, instead of running and locking their doors. Why do we keep opening up businesses without the proper protection and safety devices in these times? These clowns want to be Badman so treat them like Badman.
