Gunfire erupted along Tonge Lane in Cashew Hill early Monday, leaving a 29-year-old Herbert’s resident hospitalized.
The shooting occurred shortly after 2:20 a.m. while the man was sitting inside a Toyota Noah parked near the home of his former girlfriend.
Reports indicate that a masked individual approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and opened fire before running from the area.
The Herbert’s resident was injured in the shooting and later sought treatment at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. His condition has been listed as stable, and he remained at the hospital for observation.
Two bullet holes were reportedly discovered in the driver’s side window of the vehicle.
The assailant was described as having a slim build and wearing dark clothing and a mask.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident.

The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police and government solve crimes.
So we would have seen that person on the way to commiting the crime before they mask up.
This Country has really gone to the dogs, I really do not see things improving, we gotta realize the bandits run things. The Top slack, awfully slack. The middle and bottom cannot hold. We tried a National Day of Prayer once, since then things have gotten worst. Evil will not correct sin
The math not adding. What in heaven have you parked near your former girlfriend’s home at that time of morning?
Let’s pass that hurdle first.
I would deduce you are stalking her!
Could it have been a warning that got “overly aggressive”?
I’m just saying!!!!
You can guarantee one damn thing from the Attorney General Steadroy ‘Nutten To See Here’ Benjamin; Prime Minister Gaston ‘What Crimes?’ Browne; and Police Commissioner Everton ‘Window Dressing’ Jeffers.
You won’t hear not a pipsqueak about what measures they are going to do, to stem the rising crimes right here in the country.
If there was money to be made out of reducing and solving criminal activities, Antigua would now be one of the safest countries on the planet.
Maybe these guys should be paid their regular stipends based on ACTUAL results. They’d be living on the streets the way things are going…
