Gunfire erupted in Grays Farm moments ago, leaving a young man known as Mega wounded and the community in shock.

Witnesses say Mega was in his usual spot behind Perry Bay Supermarket when a masked man approached and opened fire.

A friend, in disbelief, insisted Mega had no known conflicts.

Emergency responders rushed him to Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, but his condition remains unclear.

Police have cordoned off the area and are interviewing witnesses as investigations continue.

  1. Especially if the culprits are working on assignment lLet’s face it. Whenever there is a “threat ” of a general election, the silly seasonn̈ is preceded by arsons, senseless murders/ attempted murders as in drive-by shootings where there is no known connection between assassin and assassinated. Yuh tink dem Kay? People , just take every precaution, I beg!

  2. You people need to learn spelling , and proper grammar. It’s obvious the Antiguan education system failed horribly.

  3. AntiguaNewsRoom thank you so much for your timely coverage of news and current affairs in Antigua and even abroad. You have demonstrated that you are the true leaders despite so many imitators. This is why you remain my news portal of choice! Keep up the excellent work. A handsome donation is forthcoming.

  4. This doesn’t mean crime on the rise
Ppl need to keep their eyes on the prize
    GOVERNMENT should not be blamed
It’s the citizens just trying to cause some kinda shame
Man need to value another man’s life
Put down their weapons and dun with the strife
Too much anger bottled up in our heads
Then the result another man dead

Let love reign give up the hate

  5. @WHERE IS RICHARD

Meanwhile……..Richard Lewis is busy plotting his next move to undermine and overthrow Pringle. Serpent punk out the last time and backed out of the Motion of No Confidence. Let’s see if the wannabe Ambassador to Jamaica can convince him this time.

  6. It’s very, but how much of us know people with illegal guns, and not saying anything about it, even some parents are guilty by protecting their children who are involved in criminals activities, but yet still we want to blame government and the police force for not doing anything….

  7. I don’t care who call me bias or prejudice. Antigua is made up of 55% foreigners and direct descendants of them, primarily πŸ‡―πŸ‡² πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ πŸ‡©πŸ‡΄ and 80% of the crimes (especially homicides, robberies and gun violence) involves those first two especially ( πŸ‡―πŸ‡² πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ). Yet people want to bury their heads in the sand and pretend this is not the case. I don’t mince words and I’m as upfront and confrontational as can be. I say it like it is and how it should be, how it was and how it could be!!! TIME TO BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY!!! TIME TO BRING BACK THE CAT O NINE TAIL!!! TIME TO MAKE AFRAID OF US, NOT US BEING AFRAID OF THEM!! Why are guns so widespread and easily available in Wadadli? When my father was chief magistrate throughout the 70s to 1980, punishment was swift and severe for criminals. Criminals were afraid to go before magistrate Browne. A rapist knew he would get not only 3 years in prison (the max at the time) but also 9 lashes with the notorious CAT O NINE TAIL on his bare bottom by 2 officers while tied down. The lashes were so severe, every lash took off some of your skin, leaving your bottom bloodied and not being able to sit down for many days. Hardly any rapist repeated his crime. Lashes were also given out to robbers, and violent criminals. They still have 3 CAT O NINE TAILS at the prison office. ABLP ITS TIME TO BRING IT BACK ALONG WITH THE GALLOWS, OR FIRING SQUAD!!!
