Marshall says Serpent is a shame to the farming community with 26 acres of abandoned farm land

Agriculture Minister Samantha Marshall has called on United Progressive Party candidate Algernon Serpent Watts to return 26 acres of farm land which he has not put to productive use.

    He is not doing fart with the 26 acres of land. Guess all his time is spent in the snake pit.

    • UPP why are you campaigning in this manner ?This is a very POOR strategy. Everyweek UPP in a Village spewing the same GARBAGE. Take a good look at your Candidates. I tried to match UPP Candidates with ABLP. Honestly , the results UPP will lose all Their seats. UPP lack representation.
      In March 2023 UPP message will be BORING…UPP Candidates will be OUTDATED.

    “Immediately, a clear and concise statement from Serpent indicating he is an owner and programme host, but he will be REMOVED FROM PROGRAMMING AND NEWSROOM DECISIONS, and be SEEN TO BE REMOVED from these programming decisions, should happen. And then he should let his word be his bond.

    Serpent and many other farmers don’t get the sort of availabilities like our farmer Browne yet this minister trying to score some points. It’s shameful.

    Perhaps if she ensure that there’s a fair playing field for every farmer, she’d see better results.

  12. This is poor agriculture. No one can farm properly with pieces of lands all over the place. Also these lands do not have any surface water, it only potable water. The farmers that are successful in farming with potable water unless they are using hydroponic production are stealing water. Open field production is not feasible using APUA. He has invested in tractors and all the necessary land preparation equipment. He was farming and was doing so fairly successful. So he should be encouraged to get back into full scale production. I do not think he would be a good minister of agriculture in the other hand. Anyhow as I see it UPP will not be gaining any seat, which is sad for our democracy. The complete leadership of the UPP needs to be changed. Your campaign strategies are poor and so are the choices of several of your candidates.

    • Are you an Antiguan living in Antigua? Why didn’t you put yourself out there and join the UPP party? Antigua needs to be rid of the self serving Labour Party but a lot of people can’t deal with the gutter politics of labour. We will vote for the brave people who came forward because change must come. There are many knowledgeable people that a UPP government can use for advice. No government should be a one man dictatorship.

      • Dump the UPP. They finish. Start a new party instead. Lovell going into retirement after the election anyway. He wreck the whole party. We need a true opposition party for a healthy democracy.

        • We don’t need a new opposition party, we need to bury the Labour Party once and for all. We need a new government. One party in power for over fifty years, what do you expect from them.

    After Newton came out of the closet the Serpent took to the airwaves one Saturday afternoon spewing venomous outrage.

    He claimed he was the one who told Newton to go clean up his farm to make it look good because he said he was a farmer, he spoke about how lazy Newton was.

    How is it Serpent gave Newton advice and did not realize he is now in the same positìn and he should have his farm in order….. I am sure the clip is there with him speaking about Lamin….truth is truth
