Married Couple Faces Serious Charges after Seizure of 18 Pounds of Cannabis by Police

Pernod Samuel and Shonette Samuel, a married couple residing in Cashew Hill, are awaiting their committal hearing after being discovered in possession of 18 pounds of cannabis in May this year.

The couple awaits a magistrate’s decision on whether the evidence presented by the prosecution justifies proceeding to trial.

The investigation was initiated following credible information about the alleged unlawful cannabis possession and trafficking by the couple.

Law enforcement obtained a search warrant, leading to the discovery of cannabis plants hanging in their living room and stashed in bags.

The seized drugs, valued at $36,000, resulted in multiple charges, including possession, possession with intent to distribute, and drug trafficking.

  1. Let the fu*king people go free , the government give sons of slave masters rights to plants herb in Antigua and nothing for the poor man , set the married couple free !

  2. Ppl need to start minding their business and focus on why we can’t get decent roads to drive or even water to wash our behinds, what about all the guns on the street. Y’all a joke right now.

  3. Why deh don’t lowl d herb n go slove d multiple murder deh cannot get no leads on the ABPF needs to be trained in other aspects not just harassing people jus tryna make ends meet with this messed up system That build for d poor to stay poor 🧐😮‍💨😮‍💨lowl d herb.. #stillstillcantfindkevin🕊️

  4. Or here’s an idea, stop wasting millions of dollars on police tracking people down for a plant that most places have decriminalized and sink those resources into creating opportunities or social programmes for underserved and marginalized communities within Antigua. I have second hand embarrassment everytime I read an article, as if they’re stopping a meth lab or fentanyl distribution…it’s weed, the country could be making money off of it, but they would prefer to continue Regan’s war on drugs, which was just a war on black people.
