Oh my Lord, another robbery in Gangster Paradise.
The incompetent leaders have no solution to this problem, it’s as though they have given up. Our only solution is to send them packing, all we get is lip service. Enough has become too much

Hmm someone gonna use themselves as bait to flush them out and have fellas waiting in hiding to jump them .

It’s getting to the point where you can’t even wear a chain outside.

And what does having a gun solve? It will only lead to more gun violence and legal actions taken against you. If you feel the need to have a gun think about the other people that may also back up this claim and make Antigua a war zone.

Wow they took everything from the man and still stab him how wicked can some people be could of been their father or uncle this had happen to they wouldn’t accept it the way they did it

@informed citizen, I get your point. However, can you share some pointers on steps one can take to defend him/herself please.

Also, what do you do when you’ve been followed by other vehicles right up to your doorstep?
You may suggest calling the police but their only response is get home safely and call to say you’re home while they sit on their sofas, lie on their beds etc while on duty.

Well said Melinda. Many concerned Antiguans are also mystified by the lack of input by the authorities and this government to reassure and inform us that they will tackle this ongoing crime wave.

Every day now, we are hearing about more heinous crimes, whereas in the past decade or so it was a dozen or so incidents for the of the year!!!

Personally, I think those in power have lost control (or is it simplyclack of manpower and resources?) of the whole situation and don’t know what to do to resolve it.

@De Onlooker – If you are followed, take pictures and post them online. If they see you taking pictures they may be less likely to do something. If nothing else, at least we are more likely to find your killer
Practical solutions are, walking in groups, carrying a bright light and a personal alarm or whistle.

Law enforcement needs to set up decoys. If you can afford it, install tracking devices to personal items.
Mace/pepper spray, bear spray and tazers should not be still illegal to have in your possession to defend yourself. These perpetrators are on a mission by using fear and the loopholes in the law to commit their crimes.
