A 25-year-old man who shot himself last year is now free after spending nine months on remand for the offence.
Jase Cannonier pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition this week.
He was sentenced to nine months in prison for the firearm offence and reprimanded and discharged for the ammunition.
However, Cannonier was immediately released since he has already spent the time on remand.
The defendant was sitting in a vehicle when he accidentally shot himself with a .25 pistol last November.
Cannonier was arrested after seeking medical assistance at the hospital.
Police found the spent bullet and shell in the vehicle but the firearm was never recovered.
The man was represented by Attorney, Wendel Robinson.

Wendel is really racking up those clients now that he is no longer C.O.P.
Good for him.
People like them are a menace to society and obviously themselves.
If he is a non-national, he should be deported.
I am his employer and would also like to add he will have no job when he gets out.
Should have been made to find and hand over the illegal firearm
Exactly! Should have kept him in jail until he could provide the firearm to the police.
How stupid! Is this guy mentally challenged or something? Such ignorance. He should have spent more time in remand. Judge Judy would have known what to do with him.
Is the rumor true that the goof ball actually shot himself in his “privacies”????? Don’t ever let him near a gun again, ever!
