A 25-year-old man who shot himself last year is now free after spending nine months on remand for the offence.

Jase Cannonier pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition this week.

He was sentenced to nine months in prison for the firearm offence and reprimanded and discharged for the ammunition.

However, Cannonier was immediately released since he has already spent the time on remand.

The defendant was sitting in a vehicle when he accidentally shot himself with a .25 pistol last November.

Cannonier was arrested after seeking medical assistance at the hospital.

Police found the spent bullet and shell in the vehicle but the firearm was never recovered.

The man was represented by Attorney, Wendel Robinson.

  1. People like them are a menace to society and obviously themselves.

If he is a non-national, he should be deported.

  2. How stupid! Is this guy mentally challenged or something? Such ignorance. He should have spent more time in remand. Judge Judy would have known what to do with him.

  3. Is the rumor true that the goof ball actually shot himself in his “privacies”????? Don’t ever let him near a gun again, ever!
