After a court session, defendant Shimmal Percival, facing charges of robbery and larceny, disrupted proceedings with a vehement outburst, expressing disdain for the legal process.

Accused of stealing items worth $2,300 and robbing a man at gunpoint, he pleaded not guilty to larceny but couldn’t enter a plea for the robbery charge.

Despite a pro bono defense arguing for bail, the magistrate, citing Percival’s criminal history, remanded him to custody.

Percival’s continued outbursts led to a contempt charge, resulting in a three-month prison sentence. His trial and committal are scheduled for April 29.
