Male police officers fed up with sexual advances from a male superior

10

An undisclosed number of male police officers are asking for the intervention of the Police Service Commission to stop unwanted sexual advances from a male superior.

According to reports, the names of those involved cannot be published because the complaints are about sex crimes and the law says their identities must be protected.

In the case of the alleged offender, his name can only be published if convicted according to the Observer.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne reportedly said he’s aware of only one incident being reported and adds that it is something that the police service commission has to handle.

In one letter, filed in September of last year, a male junior officer reports that the male senior officer asked him for sex and offered to pay him according to reports.

  1. If this is true the officer needs to be fired on the spot, arrested and taken away in handcuffs awaiting trial. I pity him if he ever gets to 1735.

  2. Bet if was a woman her name force number and which station she work would be all over the media. Sexual harassment is a prolong problem through out the work force in Antigua. Wherther it is private or public sector. Espically in these law enforcement agencies I wonder what these political parties plan to do to eradicate this problem. It seems neither men or women are safe from their superiors it a damn shame. When this investigation is done I hope this senior police officer is made an example of so that those in charge know not because you in charge you can sexual harass me.

  3. wow! Unwanted HOMOSEXUAL advances – even worse. That’s an insult to a straight guy’s manhood and masculinity. Wenk people lub “back doe” instead a “front doe” eh?? This story sounds so downright NASTY & DISGUSTING!!! A nasty “hard toarn” dried-up, wrinkle-balls superior trying to PREY on his subordinates. That’s some messed up psychological workplace warfare. How are these Juniors expected to function at all??

  4. Have there been rumours swirling around this guy and his homosexuality? If so somebody in the know should out him on U Tube or Facebook. This type of behaviour cannot be tolerated in the work force.

  5. When will he stop. As the saying goes it’s the man them done now. Under vere Browne it was the women time. Shenanay you must stop. A whole female immigration officer lost her husband to you now it’s junior officers complaining about your unwanted advances.

Observer should DONE YOU. ENOUGH EVIDENCE THERE.

  6. Smash it is a scandal in itself. There is no scandal in the headline but the report is indeed scandalous. If this person had any respect for the uniform, the office within he sits and the larger community he should have conducted himself befitting the position.
