Magnitude 3.9 Earthquake Recorded Near Antigua and Barbuda

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 was recorded by the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC) this afternoon.
The seismic event was detected at a depth of 10 kilometers and was located approximately 98 kilometers east-southeast of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.
The tremor’s epicenter was positioned at latitude 16.89N and longitude 60.99W.
The quake also affected other nearby regions, including Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, situated 93 kilometers northeast of the epicenter, and Brades, Montserrat, located 136 kilometers east.
The UWI SRC noted that this preliminary location was automatically calculated using computer algorithms.
Further evaluations by SRC analysts may lead to revisions of the data.
No reports of damage or injuries have been received at this time.
Local authorities are monitoring the situation closely and urge residents to remain vigilant and informed through official channels.
