Low Pressure System in Eastern Atlantic Gains Potential for Development

0

NHC – In the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center has issued advisories on Tropical Storm Sean, which has recently reemerged in the central tropical Atlantic.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Tropical Atlantic, a broad area of low pressure several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands shows limited and disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity.

Although environmental conditions currently offer only marginal support for gradual development over the next couple of days, they are expected to become more favorable by early next week.

As a result, there is a medium chance, about 40 percent, that a tropical depression could form by the middle of next week as this system progresses westward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
