LISTEN: MP’s Lewis, Walker, Bowen pay respectful tributes to Veteran Parliamentarian Sir Molwyn Joseph

Members of Parliament Richard Lewis, Sherfield Bowen and Trevor Walker delivered tributes in the Lower House honoring retiring St. Mary’s North MP Sir Molwyn Joseph, recognizing his decades of service and contribution to national life.

Lewis opened the tributes, acknowledging Joseph’s long tenure and the impact of his work across multiple ministries. He said Joseph’s service to Antigua and Barbuda “over a very long time” заслужes recognition and pointed to the influence he had on others during his career.

Bowen followed, reflecting on Joseph’s more than three decades in Parliament and noting that sustained electoral support over that period signaled the confidence of his constituents. He also spoke of their political exchanges, describing the “cut and thrust” of parliamentary debate while wishing Joseph well in retirement.

Walker then offered his perspective, recalling Joseph’s time in government, including his role as Minister of Tourism, and his engagement with Barbuda on key issues. He acknowledged the intensity of parliamentary debate but described Joseph as one of the strongest debaters in the House, adding that his repeated return to Parliament reflected the trust of the people of St. Mary’s North.

Sir Molwyn Joseph is retiring from active politics after a career spanning more than three decades in Parliament.
