Supermarkets in and around St John’s closed their liquor sections on Thursday as Antigua and Barbuda observed the National Day of Prayer.
Government regulations required a suspension of alcohol sales for the public holiday, with retailers posting signs to notify customers.
The day is marked annually with church services, community events, and personal reflection, with residents encouraged to pray for the nation’s social, economic, and spiritual well-being.
Authorities said the restriction was intended to preserve the sanctity of the occasion.

And back to regular shenanigans tomorrow…
I like the concept I hope the participation grows over the years
lol WE BUY OUR RUM SINCE LAST NIGHT HAHAHAHA
Is weed, ganja, marijuana sales suspended too? Or we cyan chek Ras Gassy Gates dey ah Booby Alley? Asking for the tourists!
What happen to the casinos PM , they robbing off the poor people them monies , closed them too demonic places . Too much of them in we country and the young people are getting drawn by them we are appealing a full closure next year . Other places cant be closed and gambling still going on all day and nights
This is why the country is so far from healing n fixing! Instead the day is respected, you people ensure that your alcohol is there from the night before
Should be for the entire day. Not just 6 to 6
Respect to the businesses for honoring the spirit of the National Day of Prayer.
