Anniversary Week Packed with Activities Promoting Community, Wellness, and Service
The Lions Club of Antigua proudly announces its 57th Anniversary celebration. The milestone will be commemorated with a week of impactful events running from 10th to 18th October 2025, aimed at engaging the public, supporting the vulnerable, and celebrating the Club’s enduring legacy of service.
Chartered on October 14th, 1968, the Lions Club of Antigua has been a cornerstone of humanitarian service on the island, assisting thousands of individuals and families over the decades. As the Club enters its 57th year, members are recommitting to the Lions’ mission of empowering volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, and promote peace and international understanding.
Anniversary Week Highlights:
- 12 October – Anniversary Church Service & Food Packages Distribution
- Service at St. Luke’s Anglican Church
- Followed by the distribution of 60 food packages in the Bendals, Bathlodge, and Cashew Hill communities. The total value was over EC $6,000.00.
- 14 October – Media Day & “Honk for the Anniversary”
- Media appearances highlighting the Club’s achievements and ongoing projects.
- A spirited public demonstration at the roundabout next to the Lions Den on Cross Street to celebrate 57 years of service.
- 17 October – Mental Health and Wellness Workshop
Location: The Harrison Centre (ABICE)
A forum focused on mental health awareness, stress management, and overall wellness to the students at the campus.
- 18 October – Anniversary Social
A celebratory gathering for members and partners to reflect on the Club’s journey and future.
In addition to these events, members will also visit Honorary and Life Members to show appreciation for their longstanding commitment to the organisation. There will also be a special outreach visit to Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital, to install benches and start a backyard garden, reaffirming the Club’s commitment to mental health advocacy and care for all members of society.
