The Cabinet has approved the return to beaches, beginning Tuesday, May 5, 2020, for the purpose of exercise and to improve the healthy lifestyle, and thereafter on Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, not on weekends or holidays. Other restrictions apply:
- No more than two persons from the same household may go to the beach at any one time, in order to reduce crowding and congregating in groups; no more than two persons in a car heading to the beach.
- No food, no music and no picnicking at the beach; beach hours are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm., but beaches remain closed on weekends and on holidays. Drinking water is permitted and all beachgoers must return their used water bottles to their household for proper disposal. Littering is against the law and those caught engaging in this unlawful activity may be fined.
- Those who may wish to utilize their boats may do so for fishing only, not leisure, during the 6:00 am to 6:00 pm curfew window, on Mondays to Fridays, after Tuesday, May 5, 2020; boaters may allow three members of their household only, to join the captain.

So how boaters can have 3 and beach can only have two. I have two kids and if I’m going to the beach it’ll be three of us

Rules are made based on the general situation and what they are trying to prevent or achieve.
Maybe it is different for children since they are smaller and require adult supervision.
The boaters are technically isolated in their boat, in the ocean. There will be more people Gathering at a beach then there will be people on Boat gathered in one spot.
Can these restrictions really be monitored by the police or any other task force….. ?? Somebody is joking….. Ah joke them making!!! Well the police may have quite a bit on their hand

These guidelines are rediculous. You can use a boat but only for fishing and not recreation…fishing kinda is recreation for many people, isn’t it? How do you regulate that? And you can go to the beach but you’re not allowed to take food? (I agree with the littering part though, cause we too nasty and reckless when it comes to that) And what’s the rational for not allowing beach access on weekends? Who comes up with this stuff? Smh…
Covid-19 symptoms seem to abound everywhere judging from the nonsensical reactions to the relaxation of the beach restrictions. So the new protocols don’t suit you personally?? Well, you have the same choice that all civilised Antiguans have. You follow the guidelines or face arrest and its consequences.

Simple….if the rules don’t suit them then all they have to do is DON’T GO. They haven’t been able to go to the beach for the past 3 or 4 weeks and yet they still managed to not drink the disinfectant.
Nothing is ever good enough for ppl. You give them an inch and they want to take a yard.
The government is giving limited access to the beach and even then you’re not appreciative. These ppl are trying to save your life from a “virus”, trying to prevent it from spreading and even then you still wanna take advantage.
Ppl with a mindset like that is what makes it bad for everyone else.

There is no natural immunity to this new virus “Covid”! There is no vaccine!
