Liberty Latin America Champions A Better Internet Through Education

 

DENVER, COLORADO – February 6, 2024:  Liberty Latin America Ltd. (“Liberty Latin America” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: LILA and LILAK, OTC Link: LILAB) joins the global community in supporting Safer Internet Day by prioritizing the online education and safety of senior citizens and children. Under the theme #TogetherForABetterInternet, the Company is offering a number of ways for employees, their loved ones, and their communities to educate themselves including informational resources to empower them with insights into the effective use of parental control software, understanding cybercriminal behaviors, and practicing responsible online behaviors.

This year, across all our markets, we are sharing resources internally and externally – focusing on the most vulnerable audiences, children and senior citizens – so we can collectively support each other throughout the year in our online activities and education.”

 

Liberty Latin America Safer Internet Day activities across the region include thousands of employees joining together in the following:

 

  • In Panama, we will host a content dissemination campaign for social media targeting parents and children and partner with the Women of Security, Internet Society of Panama, Authority for Government Innovation and the National Oratory Contest, to promote internet safety.
  • Partnering with the Bankers Association of Trinidad and Tobago to host a session on Being Safe Online for students of the Dabadie Government Primary School.
  • Hosting a SID Teen Summit in conjunction with the Royal Bahamas Police Force and a video-essay competition on internet safety for students at the primary and high school levels.
  • Providing a Youth Summit for high school students across Jamaica.
  • Collaborating with Puerto Rican NGOs to provide educational workshops and develop content to promote the message of making the internet a safer place.

Liberty Latin America’s Safer Internet Day activities also include an internal campaign providing online safety resources, videos, and tools – as well as a company-wide event with watch parties in various markets in which employees will virtually join Gezer Molina, National Director of Cybersecurity for the Costa Rican Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology, and Telecommunications, and Felipe Ruiz in a conversation about how to keep your digital identity safe.
