Uroy Joseph, a Liberta resident already on remand for murder, has been sentenced to 13 months in prison for cannabis possession.
Police discovered 7.64 kilograms of cannabis at his home during an October 2021 search linked to another investigation. Joseph pleaded guilty in January, leading prosecutors to drop a drug trafficking charge.
His attorney, Wendel Alexander, highlighted Joseph’s lack of prior convictions and misunderstanding of drug possession laws, urging the court to show leniency.
